Sandy Abney

Sandy Abney has a unique skill set in the health and fitness industry truly setting her apart from the rest.  Sandy has been a Strength and Conditioning Coach for over 14 years and currently works at the University of Texas.  Sandy brings an uncommon dual level of expertise to her role – success as both coach and power athlete.  During her tenure as coach her teams have competed for twelve national titles and won over twenty Conference titles.  Over her tenure, Sandy has trained Olympians, Collegiate and High School All-Americans.

 

Sandy received her degree in Exercise Sports Science from Texas State University and holds certifications from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (MSCC), National Strength and Conditioning Association (RSCC*D), United States Weightlifting Federation and Canada-USA Speed/Agility/Conditioning Association. Sandy serves on the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association Certification Council where she helps to oversee the certification process of strength and conditioning coaches across the United States. In addition, she is a former college heptathlete and power lifter turned Olympic Weightlifter.  Sandy is a former Master Olympic Weightlifting National Champion and has been competing as a nationally ranked weightlifter for over 16 years.  A highlight of her weightlifting career was competing for a spot on the 2004 USA Weightlifting Olympic team.

 

Through the experience of working with over a thousand athletes Sandy has developed a training philosophy and coaching technique which is highly efficient and effective in achieving desired results.  Sandy is also asked to share her expertise through speaking engagements at industry conferences and corporate events. She has brought her knowledge and intensity from the performance training realm to the general public and corporate setting and is educating, motivating, and empowering people to live a healthier life!

Ron Hash

Chief Executive Officer

(M.A and M.Ed.)

 

Ronald Hash has a 3-pronged career including corporate management, small business ownership, and higher education / technology program management. Ron has 20+ years of experience directing Operations, Programs, Technology, and Business Development for startups, mid-tier ($300M), and fortune-500 divisions -- as well as educational, community, and philanthropic organizations. Mr. Hash has successfully launched, partnered, operated, and exited several SME businesses. He holds Bachelor’s degrees from Virginia Tech and North Carolina State University; and Master’s degrees from Duke University and Texas State University. Ron has also earned certificates in Professional Ethics, Small Business Consulting, and Non-Profit Management. Ron’s talent lies is helping lead organizations through periods of rapid change by efficiently integrating people, processes, systems, and infrastructure.

Jackie Brumbalow

Director of Group Training & Sales

Jackie Brumbalow brings a diverse coaching background and experience to Power to Perform. She is in her 2nd year of coaching in the strength and conditioning profession. She holds a Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences from Midwestern State University.  Jackie holds the honor as the first female collegiate strength and conditioning coach for Midwestern State University.  In pursuit of gaining more knowledge and broadening her coaching skills, Jackie has been coaching at the University of Texas since June 2010. Jackie’s undergraduate degree is in Sports and Exercise Administration and Exercise Physiology. She is also a certified group fitness instructor with over 6 years of teaching experience. Jackie’s certifications include International certification from Les Mills and holds certifications for the following-Body Pump, PiYo, Spin, and Combat Fitness Instructor, ASCM Group Exercise Instructor/ Personal Training, American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, Swim Instructor, and Water Aerobics Instructor. A former volleyball player for Midwestern State University, Jackie continues to lead an active lifestyle. When Jackie is not coaching athletes or teaching fitness classes you can find her enjoying her free time on the lake!

Donnie Maib

Certified Master Strength & Conditioning Coach

(Certifications: Certified Master Strength and Conditioning Coach certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association)

 

Coach Donnie Maib has over 18 years experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. He began his coaching career at the University of Colorado in 1994 where he worked with E. J. “Doc” Kreis until 1997. Coach Maib trained all varsity teams while at Colorado, where he helped many athletes obtain All-Conference as well as All-American accolades. From 1998 until the present, Coach Maib has been at the University of Texas, where he is currently the Director of Olympic Sports. While at Texas, Coach Maib has worked with a variety of sports including; Football, Women’s Track, Men’s and Women’s Golf, Men’s Tennis, and Women’s Volleyball.

 

In 2005, with Coach Maib’s support, the University of Texas football team won the National Championship in the Rose Bowl. Under his direct supervision, Women’s Track won National Championships in both their indoor and outdoor seasons in 1999. Also under his direct supervision, Men’s Tennis won a Big XII conference championship in 2006, and most recently, Women’s Volleyball won the Big XII conference championship in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Coach Maib has had the privilege of coaching numerous All-Conference, as well as All-American athletes, at the University of Texas. In football alone, while working alongside Coach Madden and Coach Mack Brown, there have been over 30 players drafted into the NFL in the past 11 years.

 

Coach Maib holds a 1st degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and has published a book and video entitled Speed-Strength Training for Martial Artists. He is a certified Master Strength and Conditioning Coach certified (MSCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Donnie assists with character development classes and is often called upon to lead chapels for the football team during the season.


Coach Maib played football at Gallatin Senior High School where he earned All-State, All-Decade, and All-American Honors. He went on to earn a full scholarship at the University of Georgia where he lettered and started for 3 years at defensive tackle.

Donnie has been married 15 years to his wife Karen and they have four girls.

Trey Zepeda

Trey Zepeda is a Strength & Conditioning coach who works extensively with athletes to make sure they are getting the proper training and nutrition for their specific sport.


Trey has been in the strength and conditioning profession for over 7 years. His current title is strength and conditioning coach at The University of Texas. At UT he is responsible for men’s track & field, swimming, and golf. He has been an active coach in the performance training industry over 16 years. He received his degree from Ottawa University and is a member/certified with NSCA-CSCS (National Strength Conditioning Assoc.-cert. strength conditioning specialist), USAW Weightlifting-Club Coach and IYCA-YCSC (International Youth Conditioning Assoc.-youth conditioning specialist cert), TPI-CGFI (Titlist Performance Inst.-certified golf fitness instructor).


Trey has trained many successful athletes including Olympians (11 at Beijing 2008), Collegiate All-Americans, National Champions, and the 2009 World Champion Decathlete. Trey has worked with many people of all ages and abilities. His major focus and passion has been in the athletic development of athletes (pro and amateur). He was a former college football and baseball player. Trey has been a coach and competitive athlete most of his life. When he’s not in the weight room you can find him mountain biking, golfing, fishing, listening to live music, or at a rodeo.

Patricia Stroderd

Group Fitness Instructor

(Certifications: Certified as an AFAA personal trainer & Les Mills RPM instructor)

 

Patricia Stroderd began her career as a fitness instructor 4 years ago and has embraced her passion for helping others lead a healthy lifestyle. Her approach to fitness is "Yes, you can!". As a mother of 2 small children, she is very conscience of the hurdles preventing most people from integrating fitness into their everyday lives. Finding herself overweight after having her children she was at a crossroads. Choosing to become a better version of herself and also to set a good example for her family is what she considers the best decision she's ever made. After obtaining certifications as an AFAA personal trainer & Les Mills RPM instructor, she is pursuing specialties in Group Resistance Training, Practical Pilates and Weight Training outside of the traditional weight room environment. Patricia is pursuing a degree from ISSA in Exercise Science and is studying to become a Dragon Door certified Kettlebell Trainer.

Jake Landon

Strength & Conditioning Coach

 

Jake Landon is a strength and conditioning coach who interacts with the greatest degree of professionalism and personal integrity while motivating athletes to achieve goals, prioritize and strategize to create success.

 

Jake is in his second year as a strength and conditioning professional at Midwestern State University. He is the conditioning coordinator for all sports and works directly with the men’s and women’s soccer and football programs. Jake, a former standout college soccer player for the Midwestern Mustangs, is in his first year as the Assistant Soccer coach at Midwestern State University. Jake is working to complete his Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, TX. As team captain for Midwestern State University soccer program, Jake helped lead the team to 4 consecutive Lone Star Conference championship titles, two elite 8 appearances, and 1 NCAA final four appearance.

Lee Scott

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Lee Scott enjoys the training aspects of sport and fitness. He feels blessed to have a passion for something that many people consider tough work and no fun. Lee believes that fitness can and will lead one to have an overall better quality of life, which is why it is so important to take care of the one and only body we have. Lee is grateful for the abilities given to him and looks forward to using those abilities to help others.

 

Lee is a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Midwestern State University Mustangs. While working in the strength and conditioning profession, Lee is finishing his Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Midwestern State University. Lee is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Lee, a college football standout, is currently pursuing his athletic career as a professional football kicker. When not working or studying, you can find Lee out on the football field training for the National Football League.
